Villa Baku

Villa Baku was the first place that we stayed in in Seminyak.

We organized a driver through the villa to pick us up from the airport. Even so we still got lost. Villa Baku is well located but hidden down one of the many alleyways.
We were greeted by the husband of the couple that look after the villa. He’s very helpful and can organize tours, get your laundry done, etc…
The villa has a rustic Bali feel to it, a good sized living area open to the garden. An outdoor shower so you can look at the stats as you wash your hair. The decor is fab with carvings and pics you would like to take home. You know you’re here to relax with the hammock hung on the veranda.
There are 2 bedrooms, one downstairs and one up. For families the problem with this is that the stairs are too open and steep for kids. So with them being in the downstairs bedroom they have a free run at the pool. As a consistence you have to lock them in.
The location of the villa is really good with a nice cafe at the end if the lane the icing on the cake. The beach is walking distance or only IDR 6k in a taxi with kids. It’s a surfing beach but even so very shallow, there is a rip so you just have to be careful with slightly older kids. Ours are always within reach in water still. There are plenty of small shops, Bintang supermarket and also restaurants with in walking distance.
The main problem with the villa though was the mosquitos. My daughter at one point had 30 bites.
If the mosquitoes are sorted I’d recommend the villa for families with older kids or couples.
