You really know that the exciting part of the season is coming when you start the European knockout stages. Hare are my Quarter Final predictions
My 30 second one line predictions with the full reasoning written below.
Wasps v Exeter Chiefs
This could be the first of three times that these sides face each other between now and the end of the season. It’s promising to be a season of firsts or at least first in a long time for both these sides. Neither has graced either the semi finals of the top European competition or Aviva Premiership playoffs recently. So there must be divided attention. Exeter won the previous meeting of these two side back in early December but Wasps have built more consistent form since then whilst Chiefs have had a couple of hiccups. This should be a cracker of a game and I think that home advantage will be the deciding factor.

Saracens v Northampton Saints
After a big of a stumble during the 6 Nations Saracens have got their season back on track and are again looking like one of the top European sides that they are. There will have been some distractions this week after a feisty affair with Bath and the various citings and discussions about referee calls. Saints have been showing some better form but they still aren’t back to the levels that they showed last season. With that in mind I can’t see them having enough to upset Saracens at home.

Leicester Tigers v Stade Francais
Tigers are favourite to make the final spot in the Aviva Premiership playoffs but with their heritage will be wanting to make a mark in Europe. This is a prime opportunity as they face Stade who are having a shocking season and languish at the bottom end of the Top 14 table. They are the reigning Top 14 Champions though and still have quality players to be a dangerous side as they showed getting out of the group stages. This is the third meeting between these sides and so far the home side has won each time, I fully expect that trend to continue.

Racing Metro 92 v Toulon
Two of the big spending French sides face off in the last game. I’m surprised how clear cut the voting was for this one with Dan Cater’s Racing Metro coming out as favourites. Toulon are the treble reigning champions and have quality tuning through their side so they will have no fears heading away. However they have been far from faultless this season. So again I’m going for the home side but I think this will be a close one.
