We are down to the last two rounds of the regular season with plenty left to play for with the playoffs and Champions Cup places up for grabs. Here are my round 21 predictions.
First here is a link to round-up of the action from last weekend.
How did your round 20 predictions go?
4 from 6, not great this late in the season.
Here is my 30 second One Line Predictions with written reasons below.
This week sees a lot of top half v bottom half of the table clashes. All of those teams at the top of the table have something to fight for so there will be no easy rides for those teams lower down.
Sale Sharks v Gloucester Rugby
Sale are the side here that is fighting for a Champions Cup place. Also they have not lost at home in the Premiership all season so it’s easy to call this one a home win. Gloucester’s season came to an end on the back of a run of 4 losses. However any thoughts that they had given up for the season were put to bed with a home win over Exeter. That was at home though so I’m not expecting them to win but they will put up a good fight.

Leicester Tigers v Worcester Warriors
This is a simple case of a top side playing host to a lower table side so we should see a fairly comfortable home win.

Northampton Saints v Bath
Another case of a top side playing host to a lower table side. Even though Bath did pick up a home win last weekend I can’t see them upsetting Saints in their quest for a Champions Cup place.

Exeter Chiefs v Wasps
This is the big game of the round. These sides have already met twice they season and it looks like this game will decide who will host who in the playoffs. The two games so far have been split one each and the quarter-final of the Champions Cup cam down to a single kick. Again I think this one will be close but unlike popular opinion I’m going with the home side. I am a Chiefs fan though…

London Irish v Harlequins
This time the higher up the table side is the visitors. Quoins best chance of a Champions Cup place probably comes in the Challenge Cup final but they will still be looking for a top 6 finish. Irish aren’t mathematically relegated but I can’t see them being able to overcome Quins and this will see them officially relegated.
Harlequins by 10
Saracens v Newcastle Falcons
Finally another top of the table side hosting a lower table side. Falcons are the other side that could be relegated but it’s extremely unlikely. Even so with Saracens wanting to top the table to face Tigers in the the playoffs, who have lost Burns recently, I can’t see Falcons having the quality to win this one.
