The Premiership is turning into an exciting season already with interesting stories at both the top and bottom of the table. Here are my predictions for round 3.
First here is a link to my round-up of all the action from last weekend.
How did your round 2 predictions go?
3 from 6, very average even if there was a draw.
Here are my 1 Line Predictions, read below for the full reasoning.
Sale Sharks v Gloucester Rugby
Sale have continued their win at home and lose away form of last season. It’s hard to see anything else this weekend as well. Gloucester started the season brightly but let Tigers come back and lost their opening game. Then last weekend drew with Worcester who are predicted to be on the fringes of the relegation battle. That has to have bashed their confidence and under those conditions Sale away is not where you want to be going.

Bath v Worcester Warriors
Bath are on a roll under their new coach Blackadder. This is the perfect kind of game to keep that going. Worcester did get a draw last weekend to start their season but that was at home and this will be a different kettle of fish. This one is home win all the way.

Exeter Chiefs v Harlequins
These 2 sides haven’t started the season the way they would like. Exeter have lost both their games but they were against first and third in the table last season. Quins were made to work hard by Bristol and then lost away to Sale so maybe the results they were expecting but not the performances. I’m backing the home side to be more desperate and take this to kickoff their season. What should be one of the more attractive games might not be up to previous seasons as both teams aren’t firing on all cylinders.

Saracens v Northampton Saints
The Saracens machine just keeps on rolling and people are already talking about a back to back double winning season. Saints have disappointed me so far as I was expecting them to be challenging for the playoffs. Whilst they will probably be there abouts again they haven’t been demanding attention as top of the table contenders like some other sides. I think this will be another win for Saracens.
Saracens by 10
Wasps v Bristol
Bristol knew that the Premiership was going to be a tough old battle and getting anything from their opening 5 games was going to be a struggle. They would have hopped that Wasps were still trying to get settled after bringing in so many players but that’s not the case. Wasps have been flying and they will be looking for the TBP win here.
Wasps by 15
Newcastle Falcons v Leicester Tigers
Tigers have let teams get a lead on them this season and then come back in the second half. That came to bite them last weekend against Wasps and whilst this weekend they aren’t against the same caliber of opposition it’s a habit they will like to break. I’ve gone for a narrow win as Falcons can punish you if you give them a chance so could rack up a couple of early tries.
Leicester Tigers by 3
