Gallagher Premiership 2018-2019 Round 8 Predictions

Last week I said that it felt like a 4 way battle to avoid relegation but looking at the table this week it feels like there’s 5 teams in that now. Also the sides in 6th and 7th aren’t that far away either. This season is turning into a right old battle as I think many people thought it would.

Here is my video with my Gallagher Premiership Round 8 Predictions:

Newcastle Falcons v Bath – Newcastle Falcons by 3

A lot of us had Falcons beating Quins last weekend but that didn’t happen. They are still the same team that finished 4th last season so at some point they are going to have to click! I’m backing it will this weekend as Bath have only won once away (ironically at Quins).

Worcester Warriors v Harlequins – Worcester Warriors by 3

Worcester have won 2 out of their last 4 games so they aren’t in that bad a form. With Quins being a fairly poor travelling side and this being in the international window I think they are going to come up short even if Care has been released from the England setup.

Exeter Chiefs v Gloucester Rugby – Exeter Chiefs by 7

The rules are always back Exeter and Saracens to win. Sure Exeter are missing players to England and Gloucester are going well. Gloucester are going so well they have climbed up to 3rd in the table. However Exeter haven’t lost a game all season and I can’t see it happening at home this weekend.

Sale Sharks v Northampton Saints – Sale Sharks by 7

2 wins in the last 3 games have pulled Saints up to 8th in the table and another win here could see them looking up rather than down the table. Sale though have looked batter at home than away with 2 wins out of their 3 games. I’m still not convinced by Saints and I think Sale will get the home win they need as they sit 11th in the table at the moment.

Wasps v Bristol – Wasps by 10

Not everything feels right at Wasps at the moment. They haven’t helped by injuries, suspensions and international call-ups. However they are in a mini slump having lost their last 2 games. This though is the perfect game for them to get back on the bandwagon. Bristol have been looking decent at home but having some fairly big losses away. So I can’t see anything other than a home victory.

Leicester Tigers v Saracens Saracens by 7

As I said above the predictions rules mean this is an away win for Saracens. Again they are missing players to injury and international call-up but they are a squad designed to cope with that. If team below them do get the predicted wins then Tigers will need to get some points over the next couple of games to stop getting sucked into a relegation battle. We all knew that relegation this year was going to be a big scrap and there are 5 teams in that battle but it could spread up the table further.
