European action is out of the way and so it’s back to domestic matters. It’s even more domestic this week as it’s a derby week with all the teams playing someone from their own country. Well except for the two South African sides who are having a weekend off.
Here is my video with my Pro14 Round 11 Predictions:
Cardiff Blues v Dragons – Cardiff Blues by 10
The Dragons are in disarray, their head coach has been sacked and Shaun Edwards has turned down the caretaker role. This could go one of 2 ways. Either we’ll see a dead cat bounce as the players prove they are better than people are saying or they totally fall apart. I can’t see them winning but the margin is anyones guess.
Ulster v Munster – Ulster by 3
This is the first of 4 games this weekend where the away side is stronger than the home side. However they aren’t significantly stronger on the road. Munster have only beaten Cheetahs and Zebre away from home (the bottom 2 sides in their conference). Ulster have a decent home record and so I’m going with the narrow home win.
Ospreys v Scarlets – Ospreys by 3
Similar story again except Scarlets only away win is to the Kings. Again Ospreys have a good home record having only lost once at home so narrow home win again.
Edinburgh v Glasgow Warriors – Edinburgh by 3
Edinburgh are the best example of home dominance 4 wins form 4 games but none on the road in the Pro 14. Will Glasgow be the ones to end that run? They are having a really good season with only a loss in South Africa to the Kings and a 1 point loss to Munster away. Glasgow are the better side but Edinburgh Castle is strong.
Leinster v Connacht Rugby – Leinster by 15
Connacht are having a good season and are 3 wins form 5 both home and away. However they are coming up against the European and Pro 14 champions who have only lost once in the league. This is a home try bonus point win.
Zebre Rugby Club v Benetton Treviso – Zebre Rugby Club by 3
Zebre have made themselves difficult to beat but they do struggle to score. That’s seen the Cheetahs climb over them in the table due to bonus points. I think that Treviso will have their hands full this weekend and again I’m going for the home side.
