Top 14 2018-2019 Round 12 Predictions

It’s back to domestic action for the Top 14 teams after a couple of weekends of European action. We left it with the top 9 teams fighting it out for the playoff places and 4 teams trying to avoid relegation. Yup that’s only 13 teams as Perpignan already look like coming last.

Here is my video with my Top 14 Round 12 Predictions:

Agen v Stade Francais – Stade Francais by 3

Straight off the bat it’s a hard one to call. Stade have fallen down the table off the back of 3 consecutive losses. However they are up against Agen who have only won 3 games all season. If Stade can’t win this one then their promising season is looking bleak.

Toulon v Lyon – Toulon by 3

Toulon might sit down in 10th but they have found some form recently. Winning 2 of their last 3 games in the Top 14 and also picking up a win in the Champions Cup 2 weeks ago. Lyon are one of those sides that really doesn’t travel well so I think Toulon could pick up a much needed but narrow win.

Racing 92 v Perpignan – Racing 92 by 15

Perpignan haven’t won all season and it’s not going to change this weekend. Home try bonus point win.

Grenoble v Montpellier – Montpellier by 5

Again another one where we have a side in some poor from visiting a bottom of the table side. The rule in for picking in the Top 14 is to go with the home side. However I think the gap in quality between these 2 is too much so again I’m going with the away side to buck their recent form.

Pau v La Rochelle – La Rochelle by 7

La Rochelle are on a run of 5 wins in the Top 14 and a visit to Pau who have lost their last 4 shouldn’t be a problem.

Castres v Bordeaux Begles – Castres by 3

Castres aren’t in the best form at the moment but Bordeaux are terrible travellers with only 1 away victory. So I think Castre will get a narrow win to climb above Bordeaux in the table.

Clermont Auvergne v Toulouse – Clermont Auvergne by 5

1st hosting 2nd, this should be a cracker! Toulouse are on a 5 game winning streak but Clermont have not lost at home all season. This is the match of the week and I’m going for a home win.
