The Top 14 is nearly at the half way stage, well of the regular season at least. Like many of you I’m away from home for the festive season but that’s no reason not to publish my predictions.
Here is my video with my Top 14 Round 13 Predictions:
Lyon v Agen – Lyon by 15
The opening game is a simple one to pick. Lyon have not lost at home all season with their only blemish being a draw against Toulouse. Agen have picked up 1 away win but I can’t see them doing that again this weekend.
Stade Francais v Grenoble – Stade Francais by 7
Grenoble have put some form together with 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses in their last 6 games pulling them to the top of the relegation battle. However they still haven’t won on the road. Stade amazingly have more away wins than home wins! That’s extremely rare in the Top 14. Still I think they will add to their home account this weekend.
La Rochelle v Castres – La Rochelle by 10
La Rochelle have won 6 games on the trot and all by 5 points or less! They really have become the kings of closing out games. Castres on the flip side haven’t been able to string more than 2 wins together and sit mid-table. This should be an easy win for La Rochelle.
Perpignan v Clermont Auvergne – Clermont Auvergne by 10
Bottom (with no wins all season) hosting top. Yup this should be an away TBP win.
Montpellier v Pau – Montpellier by 10
Montpellier have really been inconsistent this season which sees them sit down in 9th place. They even lost to relegation threatened Grenoble last weekend. However Pau are in a really poor run having lost their last 5 games. This should be a home win.
Bordeaux Begles v Racing 92 – Bordeaux Begles by 3
This should be one of the cracking games of the round as 5th hosts 4th in the table. Bordeaux are one of those sides that hasn’t lost at home all seasons, again the only blip was a draw. They have managed to pull off a couple of away wins recently to climb the table. Racing have been there abouts all season but the only team they have beaten in the top half of the table is Stade. That was a 1 point away victory. I think Bordeaux should have enough to keep their climb up the table going.
Toulouse v Toulon – Toulouse by 10
Toulouse are having a great season, sat second in the league and even got a draw away to Clermont last weekend. Toulon have climbed out of the relegation battle with 3 wins in their last 4 games. However they were all at home and Toulon have yet to win away this season. So a comfortable home win is on the cards.
