Pro14 2018-2019 Round 15 Predictions

We might been the middle of the 6 Nations but that doesn’t mean domestic action takes a total break. The Pro14 will have a complete round of matches but which players will they be getting back from the International sides? Not the first choice starters that’s for sure.

Here is my video with my Pro14 Round 15 Predictions:

Edinburgh v Dragons – Edinburgh by 10

One of the easier games to pick this weekend. Edinburgh are a side on the up as we have seen in Europe this season. Also they have a formidable home record having won 6 from 6. The Dragons on the other hand have lost all their away games. This will be the 7th.

Munster v Kings – Munster by 15

This is a very similar situation to the Edinburgh v Dragons game. Munster have also won 6 from 6 at home. The Kings have also lost all their away games. I would have gone for a bigger margin if Munster had all their internationals available. Then again they might have been rested anyway.

Ospreys v Ulster – Ospreys by 5

Initially I was a bit unsure around this one because of the impact from the 6 Nations. But then I had a look at the recent form and it was a relatively simple pick. Ulster are in a poor run of form having lost 2 of their last 3 games. The one they didn’t lose was a draw with Benetton at home. Ospreys are another of these sides that don’t like to leave home. 7 form 8 at home and 1 for 6 away. At least this one should be a win.

Zebre Rugby Club v Leinster – Leinster by 15

Things don’t get any easier for Zebre. Their last win was back in October over a visiting Edinburgh. Leinster will win this with a TBP even with players missing.

Connacht Rugby v Cheetahs – Connacht Rugby by 3

This is one of the more interesting clashes of the weekend. Cheetahs have won 6 of their last 8 games to really turn their season around. That has to be tempered a little as it’s included Kings twice and Zebre twice. Connacht are also having a decent season, up to 3rd in their conference. However they have lost 3 out of their last 4 games, even if it has been by single scores. That means these sides are probably on an even standing. I think home advantage is going to tip the balance to Connacht though.

Benetton Treviso v Scarlets – Benetton Treviso by 3

Another intriguing game. Both these sides are going to be decimated by international call ups. As they sit 2nd and 4th in their conference only separated by 2 points this is a really important game. Treviso come into this on a high with 4 wins and a draw in their last 5 games. Scarlets are not in such fine fettle with only a win over the Dragons in their last 5 games. Also they have only won 1 game away with season so you have to go with the Italians.

Cardiff Blues v Glasgow Warriors – Cardiff Blues by 3

OK I’m sailing against the wind on this one by backing the home side. Glasgow are 10 points clear of Cardiff in their conference but their recent form has been disappointing. 3 losses in their last 4 games including home and away to Edinburgh and to Benetton. Add into that the loss of players to Scotland and I think that will be fatal. Cardiff are improving if slowly. They will also be impacted by losses to Wales but at least that’s spread over 4 teams not just 2. Also a fine home record of 5 wins from 6 games means I’m backing the Blues.
