6 Nations 2019 Round 3 Predictions

After a weekend off to nurse bumps and bruises we are back with the 6 Nations Championship! Not only do the men face off but so do the Women’s Six Nations and also we have The Americas Rugby Championship taking place as well. I’ll give you my predictions for all 3 tournaments.

Here is my video with my 6 Nations 2019 Round 3 Predictions:

6 Nations (Men’s)

France v Scotland – France by 5

OK so you’re going to think I’m crazy or anti Scottish or something. However that’s not the case. Sure France have had 2 poor results this year and a whole bunch last year too. On top of that we’ve had talk of a player revolt as well. However my prediction is more about Scotland’s injuries than anything else. They already had a double figure injury list and when you add Hogg and Russel to that list suddenly this doesn’t look like the same Scottish side. Add in so issues on the road and I think Scotland will come unstuck.

Wales v England – Wales by 7

After England’s opening 2 wins some people were starting to talk about Rugby World Cups. That is very premature. The first 2 wins have both been off the back of finding space to kick into. That’s been helped by having players in the 15 jersey that aren’t used to being in those jerseys. Wales will be playing a specialist fullback.

Also England’s wins were down to dominant tackles. Can Wales cope with that? I’m not so sure but with 1 of England’s key attacking weapons blunted it will be a very different game. I don’t know how England will go when they have to change up their attack.

I do know that this is a good Welsh side on a historically long winning streak. We do have to temper that though as the winning streak hasn’t included playing any of the current top 3 sides in the world.

This is going to be a battle and I’ll be live on YouTube straight after the game brining you post match reaction.

Italy v Ireland – Ireland by 30

I expect that Ireland will switch up their team in the same way that Wales did. This is an opportunity to give some players experience of test rugby and still come away with the win. In the last 4 meetings Ireland’s smallest margin of victory has been 37 points. So maybe I’ve actually gone on the low side.

6 Nations (Women’s)

Italy Women v Ireland Women – Ireland Women by 3

Italy have really stood up in this championship. Getting a win over Scotland and a draw with Wales. Ireland though are a step up from those 2 sides and so this is going to be a real test. I think it should be a good game with the away side taking the win.

France Women v Scotland Women – France Women by 30

France will be looking to bounce back from their loss to England and Scotland are going to be in for a tough day at the office.

Wales Women v England Women – England Women by 30

England and France are a step above all the other sides and this will be a comfortable away win.

Americas Rugby Championship (ARC)

Canada v Chile – Canada by 10

Canada have had a torrid time of it in this Championship. Losing to both Uruguay and Brazil. Chile have also been finding it tough and at home they might have been thinking of having a chance against a wounded Canada. Away though I think is too much to ask.

Argentina XV v Uruguay – Argentina XV by 10

Argentina have got their second string humming this season. 2 big wins so far and the hardest task behind them. Uruguay are in for a real examination and keeping it close will be a good result.

USA v Brazil – USA by 7

If this were in Brazil it would be tasty. Brazil have a real pack as we saw in their win over Canada. So expect a real examination up-front. However the USA should have too much class and see this one home even if they are missing a couple of players who have gone back to Europe.
