It’s a truncated weekend with only 3 games this round. For some reason they are all overlapping so you’re going to have to choose which one to watch. Another side gets to have its first home game so the fans will be losing that. Get an idea where all the teams stand with The Runner Sports MLR Power Rankings.
Here is my video with my MLR 2019 Round 6 Predictions:
Houston SaberCats v Rugby United New York – Rugby United New York by 5
As I’ve said before I have a soft spot for the SaberCats and it’s probably time for me to admit they are my side. That meant I got the prediction wrong last weekend and for my picking integrity I can’t do that again. The SaberCats are second from bottom in the power rankings having only beaten the bottom team so far.
RUNY are at the other end of that table and for good reason. Their only loss so far was at the home of the champions. The only question is will all the travel start to add up? Will we see a tired performance at some point? Maybe but I’m not expecting it this weekend.
Glendale Raptors v Toronto Arrows – Glendale Raptors by 7
The Raptors finally get to play a game at home. It’s been a really tough second season for them. After losing the opening 2 games they righted the ship somewhat with a win and a draw. Their opponents this weekend will be onto their 5th away game of the season. That travel is going to start hurting them and with both these sides missing International players to the ARC this is a survival part of the season. I expect Glendale to give their home fans something to shout about with an opening win.
Utah Warriors v New Orleans Gold – Utah Warriors by 3
This is the hardest game of the weekend to call. Utah secured a draw against Glendale at home last weekend. Last season we would have said that’s a really good result but the jury is out at the moment this season. NOLA had a cracking start to the season with 3 home wins before losing to RUNY. This will be their first away trip of the season and how have they coped with then bye week following their first loss? A lot of question marks still around NOLA so I’m baking the home side.
