The second season of MLR is really catching the imagination. The top 2 teams from last season are going ok but surprise packages in NOLA and RUNY have stirred things up. It’s also been great to see the growth in San Diego who have now completed the double over last years champions. Catchup on last weekend’s action with The Runner Sports round-up.
Here is my video with my MLR 2019 Round 11 Predictions:
Utah Warriors v Seattle Seawolves – Seattle Seawolves by 5
It’s difficult to know when kind of margin to go for here. The Warriors held NOLA and Glendale but were blown away by RUNY and Arrows. You can probably tell that I’m backing an away win straight from the start here. That’s despite Seattle having a poor record on the road.
I think that we’ll see a reaction to last weekend’s home loss for the Seawolves. That will counter their poor road record. Also Utah are still to win at home this season.
Glendale Raptors v Houston SaberCats – Glendale Raptors by 10
This is one of the easier games to pick. I don’t say that with any joy as the SaberCats are my team. However whilst Glendale aren’t as dominant as they were last season they still haven’t lost at home. Also Houston’s 2 wins have come against the bottom 2 sides in the standings.
The Raptors should be aiming for the TBP this weekend, especially as they have played 1 more game than the teams around them in the table.
Toronto Arrows v New Orleans Gold – New Orleans Gold by 3
Arrows have played half of their games. Yup that means they finally get to play at home. Due to the weather up in Toronto it’s been 8 wins away and now they have 8 wins at home. They get to sleep in their own comfy beds and have nice home cooked food.
NOLA have still only played 3 away games beating Houston and Utah (bottom 3 teams) and losing to Glendale. So their travelling form is questionable still even if they sit top of the table. So I should be picking Toronto however I’m sticking with their result pattern; LWLWLWLW.
San Diego Legion v Austin Elite – San Diego Legion by 10
The Legion have really impressed me this season especially with that win up in Seattle. That’s only the second time that the Seawolves have lost at home in the MLR. The only other time was last season when Glendale visited. So clearly it’s going to be a home win and they should be pushing for the TBP considering that Austin are still yet to win a game.
