European Rugby Challenge Cup 2018-2019 Semi Final Predictions

Both semi finals have turned into France hosting England. Can either of the Premiership sides stop the final from being an all French affair???

Here is my video with my European Rugby Challenge Cup Semi Final Predictions:

Clermont Auvergne v Harlequins – Clermont Auvergne by 15

This is one of the easiest picks of the weekend. Clermont are sat second in the Top14 having a really good season. They have won all their games in this competition scoring over 40 points in every game. That attacking prowess is so hard to stop.

For me it’s only a matter of how much Quins will get beaten by as they are still in a tough fight for 4th in the premiership. That will get them into the playoffs but does mean that they have divided priorities. You could say the same for Clermont but they have shown their squad depth can cope with that.

La Rochelle v Sale Sharks – La Rochelle by 5

Both these sides have divided priorities. La Rochelle are in the scrap to make it into the Top14 playoffs. Sale are trying to get in to the top 6 in the Premiership to qualify for the Champions Cup next season.

What takes priority? For these squads don’t have the depth of a Clermont. I think that home advantage will be the winner here. But it all could come down to which sides considers domestic matters to be the priority. If they both show up then it could be a cracking game, if 1 doesn’t then a damp squib and I can see both happening.
