This is the biggest round of games in the season! It was planned as a normal weekend but the cancelled Arrows v Elite game has been rescheduled for this weekend. With 2 games in the round for the Arrows we have extra things to have to consider this weekend. You can catchup on the power rankings with The Runner Sports round-up.
Here is my video with my MLR 2019 Round 16 Predictions:
Toronto Arrows v Austin Elite Toronto Arrows by 15
This is the first of 2 games for Toronto this weekend. They come into this weekend off the back of some really good form. 3 wins on the trot is the first time they have put back to back wins together all season. This first game should be a win as Elite haven’t won any of their 12 games so far. The only concern might be if the Arrows rest players for the second game of the weekend.
New Orleans Gold v San Diego Legion New Orleans Gold by 5
The game of the round is clearly the first meeting of 1st and 2nd in the table. Yup that’s right these 2 sides will be playing each other again in a couple of weeks time. The side that has scored the most points hosts the side that’s allowed the second least. Yup one of those irresistible forces against the immovable object type of contests. At home you have to back NOLA who have been proving the doubters wrong all season.
Rugby United New York v Seattle Seawolves Rugby United New York by 7
This is perhaps a more important game again. Where as NOLA and Legion are arguing about the order that they qualify for the playoffs these 2 are fighting it out to make it. With the Arrows stringing wins back to back there is a scenario that sees both these sides slip out of the playoff places this weekend!
Anyway to the game rather than the impact of it. Basically Seattle are great at home but a bit wobbly away with 3 wins from 6 games. Yup I think that RUNY will do the double over the Champions.
Houston SaberCats v Glendale Raptors Glendale Raptors by 3
Glendale are another side that’s struggled to travel this season. Only 1 win (and a draw) from 6 games on the road has held them back from challenging for the top. They still sit in that last playoff position but with it all being so close a win here is a must. SaberCats are having a tough old season and their 2 wins have been against fellow bottom 3 teams. Even with the Raptors poor away record I can’t see them losing this one.
Toronto Arrows v Utah Warriors Toronto Arrows by 7
The Arrows second game in 4 days will be against the Warriors who are in that bottom 3. The Warriors 2 wins have come against the bottom team in the league. So even with the extra test of squad depth the Arrows are going to have an away win would be a major upset. The big question is can the Arrows can push on and also get a couple of TBPs this weekend?
