Pro14 2018-2019 Semi-Final Predictions

Just 2 weekends of rugby to go for the Pro14! 4 more games to enjoy before it all becomes looking forward to the Rugby World Cup for these folks. Yup we are heading that way but let’s enjoy these last few games first.

Here is my video with my Pro14 Semi-Final Predictions:

VIDEO COMING

Glasgow Warriors v Ulster – Glasgow Warriors by 10

Well I was wrong to pick against Ulster last weekend as they saw off Connacht. However this weekend will be a much tougher prospect. To be fair to Ulster they have won 3 of the last 4 times these 2 sides have met. However home advantage has tended to hold sway with 9 out of the last 10 meetings going to the home side. So I’m not brave enough to call an upset on this one.

Leinster v Munster – Leinster by 7

Upsets at this stage of the game are rare so I’m sorry for playing it safe yet again. The one advantage that Munster have is that they had a rest last weekend. Leinster on the other hand were putting it all out on the line against Saracens in the European Rugby Champions Cup (which they lost).

How much will that game have taken out of them? Well they did OK last year when they won the final. They also rested players in the run up to these games which is why they drew 1 and lost 3 of their last 4 regular season games. In the last 10 times these sides have met Leinster have won 7 and all 5 that have been in Dublin. Yup it’s a high mountain that Munster have to climb.

Ospreys v Scarlets – Ospreys by 7

Also we have the playoff for the final European Rugby Champions Cup place. This takes place between the 2 sides that finish 4th in they conferences. The preparation for this game has been all over the place. The reason for this was that if Leinster won the European Rugby Champions Cup final then there would have been an extra place for the Pro14. Anyway this is the game we have ended up with.

I’m going with the home side yet again, the reason for this is that the Ospreys ended the season in good form. A 4 game winning streak claimed them their 4th place. Sure those games were against the Dragons, Cheetahs, Kings and Cardiff. However the Scarlets finished the regular season losing to the Dragons….
