SuperSport Rugby Challenge 2019 Round 7 Predictions

A big thank you again to Andre our SuperSport Rugby Challenge expert.

Last week was great results wise until the Cheetahs collapsed during the second half and the Sharks decided to stay in Durban for their fixture with the EP Elephants. The main contenders all marched on and cemented their positions.

Blue Bulls v Leopards

The Blue Bulls romped home away to the Falcons last week and have become serious contenders in recent weeks. They have rediscovered their scoring knack and should have little trouble in getting past the Leopards. Although the visitors have been better than expected this year, the gap between the top and bottom sides remains huge.

Andre’s Prediction: Blue Bulls by 26

Cheetahs v Border Bulldogs

The Cheetahs will be disappointed with their self inflicted defeat last week to WP and one feels that the poor Bulldogs will be the unfortunate opponents to feel the rebound. Border have been poor this season and will – barring some miracle – be on the receiving end of a big hiding.

Andre’s Prediction: Cheetahs by 57

Griquas v Lions

The game of the weekend for many! Both teams had comfortable victories last week and the Lions will fancy their chances in this tough away fixture. Kimberley is not for the faint-hearted and I’m backing the home side to win this one.

Zimbabwe v EP Elephants

Zimbabwe have struggled throughout the tournament and EP will be buoyant after dispatching the Sharks XV last week. The Elephants have a LWLWLW record, but that will be broken this week with another W.

Namibia Welwitschias v Falcons

The Welwitschias took another beating last week and conceded 106 points against the Pumas. The week will be another tough one as they face the ever improving Falcons. Let’s pray for rain in the Namib, to assist the home team.

Griffons v Pumas

This week it’s the turn of the Griffons to see if they can stop the Pumas juggernaut. Not an easy task and almost mission impossible. It is rugby after all, but the Pumas are a quality side and should cruise past the plucky Griffons team in Welkom.

Andre’s Prediction: Pumas by 16
DrivingMaul Prediction: Pumas by 10

Sharks XV v SWD Eagles

The inconsistent Sharks XV team couldn’t have asked for a easier game to get back on the winning track again. The Eagles haven’t offered much this season and the Durban boys should cruise past the hapless Eagles

Andre’s Prediction: Sharks XV by 40

Western Province v Boland Cavaliers

If I had to pick a game to go watch live, this Cape derby would be it. You have two teams playing positive, running rugby and with one loss in 12 games between them, they certainly know how to win games. Western Province found a way to win in Bloemfontein last week and the Cavaliers will be full of energy after their easy win against Zim last week. This is going to be a cracker!

Andre’s Prediction: Western Province by 8

Season Record:

Andre: 41 from 48
DrivingMaul: 41 from 48
