Racing 92 v Ospreys – Racing 92 by 20
Racing aren’t one of those teams with a perfect record but they do top their pool. Sure an early red card helped them last weekend but they were always going to beat Ospreys. That card will help to motivate the Ospreys in this return fixture but I don’t think that will be enough to make a difference to the result.
Harlequins v Ulster Rugby – Ulster Rugby by 3
Ulster are a surprise team to have three wins. They have all been by a try or less which shows they know how to close out games. I’m not expecting a big margin this weekend either but I do think they will grind out the result.
Connacht Rugby v Gloucester Rugby – Connacht Rugby by 5
These two sides are already effectively out of the tournament. Gloucester got the result infront of their supporters and I expect that Connacht will do the same. Connacht are a team that are really hard to play at home but tend to not travel so well. I also expect Gloucester to rest a couple of players.
Benetton Rugby v Lyon – Benetton Rugby by 5
Lyon might have got a big victory over Benetton last weekend and also sit top of the Top14. However they really don’t care about ths competition. I don’t expect many if any of the players that turned out last weekend to travel to Italy. With that apathy and Benetton needing to restore some pride, I expect we’ll see a home win.
Montpellier v Toulouse – Toulouse by 5
Toulouse are one of those sides that have won all three game. They are France’s best hope of taking the title. On the flip side Montpellier have been disappointing this season. Normally you’d back the home side in an all French clash but I think there’s more to this Toulouse side.
Saracens v Munster Rugby – Munster Rugby by 5
Saracens put up more of a fight than I thought they would last weekend. Munster got the result but it was only by a single score. I still think that Saracens will be resting players for the Premiership and that Munster can get the result because of that. Also with Racing a point ahead of them, Munster know this is a must win game for them.
Leinster Rugby v Northampton Saints – Leinster Rugby by 15
Leinster really showed that they are the team to beat in this competition. Saints might be top of the Premiership but they still went down by 27 points at home! I think that the margin will be closer this weekend but I can’t see Leinster picking up their first loss of the season in any competition.
Glasgow Warriors v La Rochelle – Glasgow Warriors by 10
Glasgow got a great result last weekend over in France. It’s kept them in the competition but they know they need to back it up again this weekend. That shouldn’t be too difficult as La Rochelle have lost all their games. They’ll be resting all their players meaning that Glasgow probably won’t recognise many players this coming weekend.
Exeter Chiefs v Sale Sharks – Exeter Chiefs by 10
Exeter maintained their perfect start with a tough win over Sale last weekend. At home they should find it easier, not only do they have home advantage but also Sale know their chance has gone now in this competition.
ASM Clermont Auvergne v Bath Rugby – ASM Clermont Auvergne by 15
Bath are in a bit of a mess this season. Losing by 17 points at home to CLermont does not bode well for this coming weekend. Clermont have one of the best home atmospheres in European rugby. Their fans will have plenty to shout about this weekend as I expect they’ll pick up a TBP win.
I’m 23 from 30 or 77% so far this season. After a really poor opening round getting 8 and then 9 out of 10 in round 2 & 3 mean I’m on the comeback trail!
